Scarlet

Here is my adorable A5 Adelphi in Scarlet or Hot Lipstick Red.

Even thought I'd just bought the Spring Green Chameleon, I couldn't give the Adelphi up after I held it in my hands. I made up all kinds of excuses: I'll need an archive binder anyway; I'll use this one in winter and the other in spring; Buying this Filofax is good for the economy.

The thing is, I didn't need to make up excuses. The Adelphi is just gorgeous as a personal journal for when I get into a seriously scribbly mood. I've also been fiddling with collage for my photographs and this little book gives me a safe space to experiment.

I am seriously loving how versatile Filofax is. If I get struck with inspiration during the week, I can jot down the idea in my "everyday" Filofax (the Chameleon), then transfer it to my "journal" Filofax. And vice versa--if I put together something that makes me smile and I need a pick-me-up during the week, I can transfer the page to my Chameleon.

So there we are. Two Filofaxes, one tired credit card, an exasperated husband, and a happy, happy me!

  1. Thanks for commenting on my Filofax for wee ones post! :) They do want to be just like mom. At least for now...

I adore your Filofax collection! Those tabs are simply beautiful. I resist labeling my tabs also until utter confusion arises as to "what" goes "where." So, I use removable sticky tabs on some to label even if temporarily.

I will read and comment more on another day--off to the children and my own Filofax addiction.

  2. Hi Sandra--the sticky tabs are a great idea. I might have to steal that one from you. :-) Thanks so much for visiting my blog--nice to have visitors when one is a novice blogger!

  3. i've been toying with the idea of an a5 for awhile now. not sure whether or not to make the investment but these are just enabler pictures so hrumph! i think i'd start with a domino to see if i like it or not - but i'll wait. maybe in the fall or something

  4. SNARLing--do it! Do it! The A5 is awesome--so much space to write and it feels really substantial to hold! If you're used to traveling lightly, it might not be the best option, but if you carry mega-handbags like I do, you hardly notice the extra weight.

  5. Ahh I didn't know you were an Adelphi owner! Your A5 is beautiful! It is just perfect and I am having cravings just looking at it. My damson Adelphi is on sabbatical at the moment as i have been bitten by the malden bug!

Oh but how I love your cherry red Adelphi!

  6. I so love this Adelphi. I have a scarlet adelphi slimline (in personal size). I can't get on with personal size and really wish I had bought one of these in A5 when they were available. Perhaps I'll sell it and get an A5 when one comes up for sale!

  7. @CP--Thank you! I think it's a fair trade--I get crampy yearnings for your A5 Aqua Finsbury! :-)

@Alison--I so agree about the Personal size. As much as I love it in theory, the size just doesn't work for me. But I have to admit, the Adelphi overall, even the A5, is very slim. I'm not sure how it will work as my journal--I do tend to go on.

  9. Hello lovely!!! How does this one compare to other A5's, is it heavier or is it lighter as it has 20mm rings i thought it could be as light as maybe a personal overly stuffed? lol xxx could you weight it if possible (i know thats an odd request! )

  10. @AspireToBe--Thanks! I started out with a personal, but the more I used it, the more I realized I needed more space.

@Imy--Not a strange request at all. I got rid of my scales (too frustrated with weight loss non-progress) but I'll see if I can dig up my husband's baker's scale and do a weight comparison.
